I'm trying to resurrect the baby blog here, since I've been a terrible slacker on it lately. Life with a baby and a job and a host of other commitments keeps you busy - big surprise! Maggie is so much fun right now though, that I thought I'd take a minute to share some of her latest exploits. So here goes...ten new things about Maggie Jo!
1. She has two adorable middle teeth that are about halfway up right now. They broke through March 17th and 21st. Some minor sleep problems and lots of drool, but a fairly happy teether.
2. She's really vocal. All sorts of fun syllables come out of this child's mouth. We've been hearing dada for a couple months now, and I got a mama this week just in time for Mothers' Day. Music to my ears, even if she doesn't have a club what it means!
3. She army crawled for about a month and a half, pulling her entire upper boady along with her hands and elbows. Quite the set of biceps on this young lady! As of last Friday, it's real crawling, 0 to 60 in no time flat! She's also pulling up on everying. Nothing in our house is safe.
4. She loves Dora the Explorer. First noticed this as our sitter has it on in the mornings. We really don't let her watch much TV at all, but we'll cheat on this for a few minutes as her grins and excited shrieks are worth it :) Not sure if it's the images or the music, but whoever created that cartoon is an evil genius.
5. Maggie's slowly but surely acquiring a taste for people food. She loves sweet potatoes and bananas and really didn't like carrots. Hoping to start some finger foods soon.
6. For about the past month, she has been sleeping through the night pretty consistently, 8 to 6. Dad and I are appreciative. Hopefully I haven't jinxed it by putting it in print!
7. She really likes to "read" and play with her books. For some reason, her absolute favorite is a lift-the-flap book called Toes, Ears, and Noes.
8. She is enamored with doors right now, particularly closing and opening them. Her favorites are the glass doors on our entertainment center. Her fingers are small enough she just slips them in the gap, grabs the doors, and swings them away.
9. She can get her socks off in about five seconds flat. We're leaning towards letting her be barefoot most of the summer.
10. She may have a bit of separation anxiety, but this child has never heard of stranger anxiety. She has curiousity about and a gorgeous grin for everyone. She's everyone's best friend, and the light and joy in our lives!
BONUS: Maggie is excited that she has a new little cousin, her first on the Jacoby side. Check out Lucy Mae at littlerapp.blogspot.com.
