Only have a few minutes here while the little one is sleeping, but I wanted to let you all know that we came home Sunday afternoon and are doing well. First night was a little challenging, but nothing compared to some of the Bringing Home Baby episodes I have watched lately!
The last few days have been somewhat of a blur in an incredibly exciting and joyful way. I'll save a post about our labor experience for another day, but let's just say that it was so surprising and quick, all the planning was thrown out the window. And she came safely and quickly and in one piece -- so it seems all the anxieties the past couple months have worked out for the best. Although next time, we will not be sending Steve to pick up a few things because we have plenty of time! We had about four hours from my water really breaking to delivery. He got back for the fun part though.
After about nine of hours of debate once she arrived, her name is Margaret Josephine. Many of you know Josephine was my grandmother's name and is my middle name. Margaret is actually my great-grandmother's name, and we really liked the nickname Maggie. So Maggie Jo it is! Sophie Gretchen was the runner-up. We also considered Josephine, Madeline, and Paige for first names.
I'm off to give "sleep while the baby sleeps" a try, but here's a Picasa slideshow with a few pictures. Enjoy!
