Today, Tomorrow or August

None of these would surprise me for an arrival date at this point! We had another good check-up on Thursday. Other than my swollen feet being worse, everything else checked out well. (Seriously, I am down to two pairs of shoes -- Croc flip-flops and a pair of velcro-expanding Merrill moccasins that I bought a month ago and are pushing too small. I spent most of my time at home laying on my side with my feet on top of four pillows, zoning out and dozing off to TLC and HGTV). But if that's the worst thing I have to deal with in this last month, I'll be okay with it.

The doctor said I'm a bit more dilated and 60-70% effaced, so things are progressing nicely. But that really doesn't mean anything...you can be stuck at this stage for weeks. This weekend I started feeling crummy and getting a lot of the textbook prelabor symptoms but not really any contractions. I also lost about 3 lbs between my weekly check ups, which I guess can be a sign. She did say that since I'm doing better we wouldn't even talk induction until Week 39, but again she thinks labor will start on its own before then. I wouldn't be shocked if it's this week -- or maybe I've just gotten lucky and avoided the typical last month misery until now.

So despite the full moon on Friday, there's no baby yet! Today is 37 weeks exactly so full term. Every day I do a couple more loads of laundry and re-organize the hospital bag a bit. We did try to enjoy the weekend a bit here. Went out to see Mamma Mia and to dinner with friends on Friday night. Then yesterday, my friend Audrey came up from Decatur with her husband and little girl, which was a fun distraction. Today we did some last minute shopping and tried to organize things a bit better.

We'll keep you posted as there's anything to report. Steve has been sent instructions on how to sign into Blogger and post, so hopefully he'll be filling in for me with announcements here soon!
